5 Years In Jail For Morris Co. Man That Distributed Child Porn

Police say he ran a shared online folder that contained child pornography.

LINCLON PARK, NJ — A Lincoln Park man was sentenced to five years in jail for distributing child pornography online, Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal announced.

Zachary S. Brawer, 32, was sentenced to five years, including 20 months of parole ineligibility, after pleading guilty in August. He will be required to register as a sex offender and will be subject to lifelong parole supervision, Grewal said.

Brawer was arrested as part of "Operation Safety Net," a statewide effort to crack down on sex crimes. According to Grewal, Brawer hosted child pornography on an online shared folder. His laptop was seized as part of a search warrant, and over 100 files of pornography, including 20 hours of video, were found.

“We will continue our collaborative and proactive efforts to arrest child pornography offenders, as long as children continue to be sexually abused to create these vile materials and offenders continue to re-victimize those children by distributing their images on the internet,” said Attorney General Grewal. “These crimes inflict terrible harm on the most vulnerable members of our society.”

Brawer was one of 79 people arrested as part of "Operation Safety Net." That operation was a collaborative effort by the New Jersey Regional ICAC Task Force, lead by New Jersey State Police and including the Division of Criminal Justice, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, all 21 County Prosecutors’ Offices, and other state, county and local law enforcement agencies.
