Baby Delivered By State Troopers In North Jersey
When one North Jersey mom went into labor at 3 a.m., she knew she wouldn't make it to the hospital. State troopers stepped up to help.

WANTAGE, NJ — This North Jersey baby was coming, whether his mom was ready or not— and at 3 a.m., she was not ready. Thankfully, local New Jersey State Troopers were there, and helped deliver the baby boy.
The Wantage mother went into labor around 3 a.m. on Oct. 17, police said. Her friend called 911, but there wasn't enough time. Sergeant Michael Verheeck and Trooper Kyle Kraljevich, both of Troop "B" Sussex Station, arrived at the home and just minutes after getting there, helped deliver the baby.
After making sure the baby's airway was clear and wrapping him in blankets, mother and baby were taken to Newton Medical Center.
