Bail Rescinded for Parsippany Man Stabbed Outside Hotel

Initial amount was $35,000.

The Parsippany man who was stabbed during an altercation at a hotel last week had his $35,000 bail rescinded, police said.

Victor Columbo, 37, who was allegedly stabbed with a kitchen knife by William Cole, 47, of Morris Plains on Friday, Oct. 16, was hospitalized and initially charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.

That bail has been rescinded, Parsippany Police Officer Brian Conover announced Tuesday morning.

Cole was charged with aggravated assault causing injury with a weapon, possession of a weapon with purpose to use it unlawfully against the person or property of another, and unlawful possession of a weapon. He was jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Columbo was released on his own recognizance and given a court date.
