Morris Co. Sheriff's Officer Injured In I-287 Crash

Two drivers were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A Morris County Sheriff's officer was one of two people injured in a two-car crash on I-287 Tuesday morning New Jersey State Trooper Alejandro Goez said.

The crash happened around 6:50 p.m. near mile marker 42.2 in Parsippany, Goez said. A Ford F350 pickup truck and an unmarked Morris County Sheriff's Office Ford Explorer were the two cars involved.

Both drivers were taken to Morristown Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Goez said. Neither car has passengers in it.

Two southbound lanes of I-287 were closed for about an hour, reopening around 8 a.m., Goez said. Delays stretched for about an hour at the peak of the delays.
