Death Of Morris Co. Mom, Son Accidental: Medical Examiner
Out of respect for the family no more information on the death of Warda Syed and Uzair Ahmed will be released, authorities said.
BOONTON, NJ - There was nothing suspicious in the drowning deaths of Warda Syed, 35, and Uzair Ahmed, 11, the mother and son pulled from a Morris County Pond Feb. 23, according to Morris County Medical Examiner.
There is no cause to believe there was any criminal activity involved in either individual’s death," a statement sent by the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. "Out of respect and consideration for family of the deceased, there will be no further comment on the circumstances of the incident."
Law enforcement officers were dispatched to the Upper Pond section of Grace Lord Park in Boonton on Tuesday night after receiving a report of an unattended child.

While searching the area, police found a 6-year-old unharmed but also discovered the bodies of a 35-year-old woman and an approximately 11-year-old child in the water. Speaking at a press conference, officials confirmed the bodies were discovered shortly after 6:30 p.m.
Police said that both boys were Syed's children and that all three are Boonton residents.

Authorities noted this is a joint investigation was conducted by the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit, Morris County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, Boonton Police Department Detective Bureau and Boonton Fire Department Swiftwater Rescue Team.
