Woman Dies After Crash On Hanover Road In Parsippany, Officials Say

Officials said the woman, 36, was fatally injured after her car and another vehicle crashed Monday. The other driver was also hospitalized.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A woman died after a two-car crash Monday evening in Parsippany, said officials.

The Morris County Prosecutor's Office said the collision took place just before 9 p.m. at West Hanover Avenue and Gov. Chris Christie Drive, which is just over the border from Morris Township.

Officials said a 2020 Hyundai Sonata and a 2016 Volvo S60 collided, causing fatal injuries to the 36-year-old female driver of the Hyundai. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

First responders took the woman, who has not been identified, to Morristown Medical Center. Medical staff pronounced her dead at 10 p.m., said a spokeswoman with the prosecutor's office.

The driver of the Volvo was also treated at the hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, said officials.

"At this point there is no suspected criminality, but the investigation remains ongoing," the prosecutor's office told Patch on Tuesday morning. "No charges have been filed at this time."

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office will investigate the crash along with the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, Parsippany Police Department, and members of the Morris County Vehicular Homicide Task Force.
