Flood Warning, Road Closures In Parsippany

Currently, there's flooding in various parts of the municipality. See roads affected:

PARSIPPANY, NJ — Heavy overnight rains have caused road closures in Parsippany Monday morning, authorities said.

The Morris County Office of Emergency Management said that the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Morris County. A flood watch is in effect through Monday afternoon.

The following roads have been affected:

  • Route 46 West has one lane open between the Edwards Road off-ramp and Longhorn Steak House/Shoprite.
  • Route 46 West/Vail Road intersection has been reopened but reduced to one lane.
  • The bridge on Vail Road going into Montville is now closed due to flooding.
  • The Route 80 West off ramp onto Route 46 West (Exit 47) is closed.
  • Due to a retaining wall being compromised on Upper Rainbow Trail, there is a road closure in the area of #77.

"Please plan ahead if you are heading out today," Parsippany police said.

  • Parsippany: 4.09 inches
  • Madison: 3.74 inches

And more rain is expected to fall Monday morning.

A flood watch has been issued for the area through 6 p.m. on Dec. 19 as rain continues to fall.
