Former Central Middle School Guidance Counselor Dies at 87
Carl Ordway was an employee in the district for 25 years.

PARSIPPANY – Anyone who went through Central Middle School in the 1960s, 1970s, or early 1980s was in some way helped by Carl Ordway.
The longtime Coordinator of Guidance at the middle school died recently at the age of 87.
Ordway was born and raised in New Hampshire and lived in Parsippany until 1965, before moving to Pennsylvania, then back to Hackettstown in the 1980s. Ordway served twice in the United States Army during the Occupation in Japan in 1947 and again serving during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1955 at the rank of lieutenant.

Ordway was a history teacher in Ramsey, Wayne Valley, and Manchester High Schools before becoming the Coordinator of Guidance at Central Middle School until his retirement in 1983.
He is survived by his wife, Florence, two sons, a daughter, a grandchild and a great grandchild.

Visiting hours will be Friday, Dec. 18 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Parsippany-Troy Hills Funeral Home with a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19 at Western Hills Christian Church in Andover.
