Wawa Opens Newest Store In Morris County This Week
Wawa will offer free coffee and other giveaways at the new location's grand opening.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — The wait is finally over. Another Wawa will open this week in Morris County.
Wawa will begin counting down the minutes until the opening of its newest store (372 US-46, Mountain Lakes) at 7:45 a.m. Friday. The doors open at 8 a.m.
Former New York Red Bulls star Bradley Wright-Phillips is among the invited visitors who will cut the ceremonial ribbon at the store, which is located on the grounds of the former Zeris Inn banquet hall, which first opened in 1973.

The first 100 guests will receive a complimentary "Wawa Coffee, Hoagies & Kindness" t-shirt when the doors open. Throughout the day, all customers are invited to enjoy complimentary coffee.
“At Wawa, our core purpose is fulfilling lives every day, and since our first store opened, we’ve believed that we all have a role in making this world a better place,” said Chris Gheysens, Wawa’s CEO. “Our associates deliver experiences and often create emotional connections with customers that go beyond what traditionally happens in a retail environment, and we look forward to welcoming old friends and making new ones in this wonderful community!”

The grand opening celebration will also include a "Hoagies for Heroes" competition between Mountain Lakes police and fire agencies to see who can build the most sandwiches in three minutes. Then, Wawa will present $1,000 checks to each agency's charity of choice.
To build on the festivities, Wright-Phillips and the New York Red Bulls Freestyle Crew will be in attendance, greeting guests and distributing autographed cards and swag, as supplies last.
Taylan Foraker will serve as general manager of the new Mountain Lakes Wawa store, leading a team of approximately 50 associates, all of which are new positions brought to the area through the development of the store.
Wawa's traditional menu offerings can be viewed here for both food and beverages.
Wawa plans to open up to 76 new stores throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and Florida in 2023. The grand opening of the Mountain Lakes location is the 58th store to open among the chain’s six-state operating area of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida and Washington, D.C.
