Hotel Evacuated After Parsippany Man Calls in Fake Bomb Threat: Cops
Man arrested in Dover after threat was deemed unfounded, police report.

PARSIPPANY – The Parsippany Inn and Suites was evacuated Tuesday night when police received a call reporting a bomb was located in the basement of the building, authorities said.
At 6:39 p.m. on Dec. 15, Parsippany police received a call reporting a bomb in the basement of the hotel, Officer Brian Conover said. Officers arrived and established a perimeter of the property and the area was evacuated.
The Morris County Bomb Squad responded and checked the premises, determining the area was clear and no threats to the public were present, Conover said. All residents and hotel guests were allowed back to the area.

Detectives developed information that the caller was Brian Miller, 49, of Parsippany, and that he may be in the area of the Dover train station, Conover said. Detectives then located Miller in Dover a short time later where he was arrested on charges of false public alarm.
He was lodged in Morris County Correctional Facility on $35,000 bail.
