Joaquin to Spare Morris, But Residents Should Stay Prepared, Officials Say
Heavy rain still coming Friday and Saturday, but impact of natural disaster won't harm Morris County.

Even after being upgraded to a “very dangerous” category 4 hurricane, Joaquin’s latest track appears to moving in the right direction – away from Morris County.
Morris County Office of Emergency Management released a statement Friday morning that latest forecasts show Hurricane Joaquin will remain “well offshore” and at this time does not appear to have any impact on Morris County.
“This does not mean, however, that we should let our guard down,” Director Jeff Paul said. “As we have learned from past events, things can change rather quickly, and as a result, we will continue with our planning processes which are well underway with all of our partners.”
