Longtime Business Owner Honored By Parsippany Mayor

PARSIPPANY, NJ — With more than 30 years in operation, the Bedding Shoppe has established itself as one of the most dependable mattress stores in town, and Mayor James Barberio recently recognized that accomplishment.

Last week, the mayor surprised the Bedding Shoppe store owner, Mike Hatler, with an official proclamation after reaching the milestone of 35 years in business. Alongside the proclamation, the mayor announced that Dec. 5 would be known as "Bedding Shoppe Day."

“I commend Mike for his achievement of 35 years of success and of being a community partner with the Township of Parsippany,” Barberio said. “His yearly food drives exemplify what giving back to the community means. The Bedding Shoppe is a fixture of this town, and I wish him another 35 years or more.”

The family-owned mattress and furniture store has been a staple in the Parsippany community since it opened its doors in 1988.

Eric Goodman, the current sales manager, and Hatler have over 30 years of industry expertise.

The Metropolitan Furniture Association named the Bedding Shoppe Mattress Store of the Year in 1996. Sealy Mattress Company acknowledged them in 2007 for 20 years of great customer service and retail performance.
