Longtime Parsippany Cop Rises To Rank Of Sergeant

Peter Rizzolo has served on the force for more than 20 years.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. – For Peter Rizzolo, it’s just a continuation of making his family proud.

Rizzolo, who joined the Parsippany Police Department in 1992, was promoted to the rank of sergeant Wednesday. The 46-year-old has three children and is the son of retired Parsippany Police Detective Robert Rizzolo.

Rizzolo is a graduate of the 41st Basic Police Officers class at the Morris County Public Safety Academy and has an associate’s degree from the County College of Morris. He serves on the Tactical Rifle Team and holds certifications as a crash investigator, firearms instructor, and DARE instructor.

He’s received two Unit Commendation Awards and one Command Citation Award during his time with the Parsippany police.
