A Smith Road resident heard his car start and then saw a man drive off in it from his driveway Tuesday afternoon, Parsippany Police said. The 42-year-old man was working on a vehicle in his garage when he heard someone inside his other car, a 1999 beige Toyota Corolla, in the driveway at about 3:40 p.m., police said. The resident saw a black man, about 5-foot-11, inside the vehicle who closed the door and drove off southbound on Smith Road, police said. Police searched the area, but did not find the man or vehicle. Anyone with information regarding the incident or may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area can contact the Parsippany Police Investigative Division at 973-263-4311 or email Crime_Tips@parpolice.com.
