Man Stole Holiday Tips From Morris Co. Garbage Workers: Police

Police say he stole tips meant for garbage workers from several streets in the days leading up to Christmas.

JEFFERSON, NJ — A Lake Hopatcong man is accused of stealing holiday gifts and tips left out for local waste management workers in the days before Christmas, Jefferson police said.

George Scalley, 23, of Lake Hopatcong, is charged with theft and possession of a controlled dangerous substance after a traffic stop on Dec. 20. Police say Scalley was seen taking gifts from Crescent Drive, Como Terrace, Moccasin Trail and South Cherry Road.
