Mistake In Absentee Ballot Fixed By Morris Co. Clerk

Officials say they worked quickly to fix the error, which only affected one voter.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — The Morris County Election Clerk says her office worked quickly to correct an issue that could have prevented a mail-in voter from having their vote registered.

Clerk Ann Grossi said that in the process of stuffing the ballots into envelopes, one employee accidentally put the wrong ballot in an envelope. She characterized the mistake as an "innocent human error."

As soon as the mistake was noticed, Grossi said the Clerk's Office hand delivered the correct ballot to the voter's home. The voter was able to get their vote in before leaving on their vacation, Grossi said.
