Morris County Doc Punched Boy, 12, In Face During 'Ski Rage': Cops
Mountain Lakes man charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child, police report.

VERNON, N.J. – There was no love on the slopes at Mountain Creek Sunday when an anesthesiologist from Morris County allegedly punched a 12-year-old boy in the face.
In what police are calling a “ski rage” incident, Samuel Caruthers, 44, of Mountain Lakes allegedly punched the boy in the face and hit him with the end of his ski pole, Lt. Keith Kimkowski of the Vernon Township Police department said.
When police arrived on the scene they found the boy visibly injured, Kimkowski said.

An investigation revealed Caruthers was skiing with his own child when the alleged victim fell into them, which prompted the assault, Kimkowski said.
Caruthers was arrested and charged with second-degree aggravated assault and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
