Morris County Man Admits Sexual Contact With Teen Girl: Prosecutor
Robert Esnes faces up to a year in prison if he violates probation, and loss of teaching certificates.

BOONTON – A Morris County man faces up to a year in prison for having sexual contact with a minor under the age of 16, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp said.
Robert Esnes, 38, of Boonton pleaded guilty Tuesday to child abuse and neglect, and in exchange for the admission, the prosecution is recommending probation and up to 364 days in prison if he violates probation, Knapp said.
He also will forfeit his teaching certificates, have no contact with the victim, and follow the recommendations of psycho-sexual evaluation, Knapp said.

Esnes was arrested April 15, 2013, after the victim’s father reported the man had inappropriate conduct with his child, Knapp said. The victim said there was an incident on April 13, 2013, where she and Esnes had engaged in sexual conduct when she was less than 16 years old, Knapp said.
Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 5, 2016.
