Morris County Man Arrested for Distributing Child Pornography

A 24-year-old Morris County man has been charged with distributing videos and images of child sexual abuse on the Internet.

A Morris County man was arrested this morning for allegedly distributing child pornography from his home computer.

Michael Hodukavich, 24, was arrested by FBI special agents and Madison Police Officers. He has been charged with one count of child sexual abuse over the Internet, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman said. Hodukavich could face 20 years in prison for his crime.

The criminal complaint states that Hodukavich distributed videos and images depicting child sexual abuse on the Internet via peer-to-peer file sharing software, which allowed others, access to the material in shared directories.

An undercover agent discovered and downloaded the images and videos, and the username and IP address of the sharer was traced back to Hodukavich’s residence, according to the criminal complaint

Hodukavich was released on $100,000 bond after appearing in Newark federal court Tuesday. This charge carries a minimum penalty of five years in prison and a maximum potential penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
