Retired Parks And Rec Employee From Morris Dies After July 4 Motorcycle Crash

The man, 64, sustained serious injuries after his motorcycle collided with a tree on a Sussex County roadway, and he was ejected.

ROCKAWAY, NJ — Police said a Rockaway motorcyclist has died, after a crash on July 4 in Sussex County.

Timothy Angle, who was the only person involved in the crash, had worked for the Rockaway Parks and Recreation Department for 25 years before retiring this January, according to his obituary.

New Jersey State Police said the 64-year-old was eastbound on Monroe Road in Lafayette Township, and lost control of the motorcycle on a curve.

"The motorcycle veered off the roadway, overturned, collided with a tree, and the driver was ejected," said Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.

Angle sustained serious injuries, and first responders transported him to a nearby hospital. He died of his injuries on July 9, Lebron said.

According to his obituary, Angle was born in Denville and lived in Mt. Hope his entire life. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post 91 in Wharton. Angle is survived by his two children, mother Helen, three brothers, his godparents, and "many nieces and nephews."

The crash is still under investigation.
