New Signal Ends U-Turns On Parsippany Roadway
The change was authorized by NJDOT at Route 46 East at the intersection of North Beverwyck Road, according to township police.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — The New Jersey Department of Transportation recently altered the traffic pattern at Route 46 East at the intersection of North Beverwyck Road.
According to an update from the township police department, there is now a "No U-Turn" sign, which will prevent traffic from Route 46 East from making a U-turn onto Route 46 West.
The change, which was authorized by NJDOT last week, is due to upcoming construction, which will impact the roadway, the police department said.

Residents spoke out on social media, approving of the change and questioning why the township or NJDOT had not installed a no-U-Turn sign in the past. "All I can say is, "It's about time!" Should have been done years ago," one resident wrote. "I was always surprised by the amount of cars making U-Turns from this lane. Personally, I'm happy for the change because I go left and this lane is always backed up when the roads are busy," another resident wrote on Facebook.
Town officials said that they have requested more information from NJDOT to see if the new sign is a permanent change or if they will be returning it to the previous traffic pattern in the future once construction is complete.
