New Superintendent Appointed For Parsippany-Troy Hills Schools
Barbara Sargent, who joined the district in 2017, announced her resignation last month.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A new school leader has been appointed to the Parsippany-Troy Hills Township School District.
The current superintendent, Barbara Sargent, resigned from her position in early May after working within the Parsippany-Troy Hills Township School District since 2017.
At its meeting on June 8, the Parsippany-Troy Hills Board of Education announced that Robert Sutter, Ed.D., would be appointed as Acting Superintendent of Schools.

Sutter began his career in education as an elementary teacher in Paterson before moving on to positions as Assistant High School Principal, Elementary and Middle School Principal, and Elementary and Middle School Principal in Boonton.
According to the board, he was the Lebanon Borough School District's chief school administrator. Sutter arrived in Parsippany in 2016 as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, seeking a larger school district experience.

Sutter earned a bachelor's degree from Kutztown University, a master's degree in administration from Liberty University, and a doctorate in education from Regent University.
“I’m incredibly honored and humbled to be selected to serve as the next superintendent. I am excited and honored to continue the district’s rich history of success,” Sutter said.
"The Board looks forward to Dr. Sutter’s continued tenure in the district and a smooth transition into the 2023-2024 school year," the school district said.
Sargent, who has been working within the Parsippany-Troy Hills Township School District since 2017, accepted a similar position at the West Morris Regional High School District, effective at the end of the school year.
The announcement was made on Friday, May 5, by the Parsippany-Troy Hills Board of Education.
The Parsippany-Troy Hills School District is a comprehensive community public school district in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township that serves approximately 7,082 students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.
"The district appreciates Dr. Sargent’s significant contributions to the district over these past six years and supports and thanks Dr. Sargent for her unwavering dedication to the students, staff, community, and our board," officials said.
