NJ Man Tried To Lure Children He Met Online Into Sex: Prosecutor

A 41-year-old man is accused of engaging in sexual conversations with two minors on the app KIK, and making plans to meet them in Morris Co.

BOONTON, NJ — Officials have charged a New Jersey man after they say he made plans to meet up with two minors in Morris County for sexual intercourse.

Morris County officials said Brian Stewart, of Clifton, engaged in explicit communications with the children on KIK Messenger in March of this year.

The 41-year-old is accused of having sexual conversations with the minors under the username "Brian Being Brian" between March 18 and March 27, officials said. Prosecutors said he also made plans to meet up with the children in Boonton for sexual intercourse.

Officials charged Stewart with four counts of second-degree attempted aggravated sexual assault, two counts of second-degree luring, one count of second-degree attempted endangering the welfare of a child, and two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, MCPO Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Boonton Township Police Chief Thomas L. Cacciabeve announced the charges on Wednesday.

Stewart has been detained in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings, authorities said.
