NY Rangers Wish Comes True For Morris Co. Child Who Beat Cancer

The lifelong Rangers fan was gifted his own clubhouse from the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

ROXBURY, NJ — Matt Adonis has been a Rangers fan his whole life. It's been a point of normalcy for the Landing preteen, who has battled cancer for most of his childhood. Cancer took him off the ice recently, but that doesn't mean he won't be able to spend some time as a Ranger.

When Matt, 11, found out he was eligible for his own Wish, he knew he wanted a place to spend more time with his friends, and that he wanted it to be Rangers themed.

Matt's wish came true this past Friday, when the Make-A-Wish team worked together with the Garden of Dreams Foundation to give him a one-of-a-kind Rangers Clubhouse in his own backyard. And what Rangers clubhouse with be complete without an actual Ranger?

Former Ranger Adam Graves was in on the wish, surprising Matt and his sister Mady in the new clubhouse. Graves talked about his hockey experiences, and enjoyed lunch with the family, and said he hoped one day Matt would be able to join him on the ice.

Hopefully, that will come sooner rather than later. Matt's scans have been cancer free for three months now.
