Parsippany Bike Manufacturer Named Walmart's 'Supplier Of The Year'

Kent International earns honor two years in a row.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. – For the second straight year Kent International has been named retail giant Walmart’s Manufacturer Of The Year.

The company has 70 employees at its headquarters in Parsippany, with another 85 employees at the Bicycle Corporation of America plant in Manning, South Carolina, and produces about 6,000 bikes a week that are shipped to some 2,500 Walmart stores across the U.S.

"Our company is a stellar example of what U.S.-based production can achieve," said Scott Kamler, President of Kent International, which has supplied bicycles to Walmart since 1997. "Bikes made overseas simply cannot match our level of engineering refinement, which enables Walmart customers to assemble them in only about five minutes. Providing this degree of convenience is part of what's enabling us to plan for future growth. We're extremely proud of our successes, products, and of once again being recognized by Walmart."
