Parsippany Boy Returns Home After Nearly Drowning
Seven-year old boy was released from the hospital.

A 7-year old boy was released from the hospital and returned to his Parsippany home following a near-drowning at a lake in Vernon, according to a recent report.
The boy, whose name was not released, returned home over the weekend, the state Department of environmental Protection told the Daily Record.
The boy was swimming at Wawayanda Lake beach in Vernon on July 20.

A swimmer emerged from the water around noon carrying the child he found submerged in about three feet of what he described as “choppy” water and alerted the lifeguard, Press Director Larry Ragonese of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection told northjersey.com.
A crew of lifeguards immediately called 911 and performed CPR on the boy but he was unresponsive. A rescue team arrived at 12:30 p.m. and continued CPR and attempted to revive him using a defibrillator, Ragonese told the newspaper.

The child remained unresponsive and was airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson.
