Parsippany Cancels Farmers Market Due To Stormy Forecast
Heavy rain, along with a flash flood watch, has prompted town officials to cancel the outdoor event.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — With a flood warning in effect and rain predicted through Saturday evening, Parsippany Township officials canceled the farmers market scheduled for today.
The free market is typically held on Fridays from 2 to 7 p.m. at Veteran's Memorial Park on Route 46.
The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch through early Saturday, as more than 6 inches of rain may fall in Morris County through then.

This may cause local flooding and even the possibility of flash floods in certain areas.
As a result, excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone areas.

The market, which has been appearing in town weekly since June 9, will officially close for the season on Oct. 27, according to township officials.
