Parsippany Company Gifts $20K To Nonprofits Supporting Accessibility
Sax LLP, an accounting, tax, and advisory firm, is celebrating the good work of local nonprofits with their annual Founders Awards.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — Sax LLP, a Parsippany-based accounting, tax, and advisory firm, is hosting its annual Founders Awards, which honor the good work of local nonprofits, with the theme "Accessibility" this year.
This year's theme is accessibility, which is an important part of the mission and operations of disability-focused nonprofits.
The first-place prize is a $20,000 unrestricted gift to the organization to support its mission and initiatives.

Applicants will submit a non-professional video that is no more than five minutes in length, and respond to three questions provided by Sax:
- Which barriers to accessibility is your organization addressing?
- How does your organization’s mission promote accessibility to the community and/or population you primarily serve?
- What role do you see accessibility playing in your organization over the next 5 years?
The top 75 applicants will be invited to attend an award ceremony on Sept. 14, when the winner will be announced.

The winning entry will receive a $20,000 gift, while the second-place prize is a video package by Beard & Bowler, a film production company in Bergen County. The third-place prize is $5,000, Sax said.
The $20,000 donation can be used for any purpose related to the nonprofit organization's tax-exempt mission.
“The Founders’ Award is a beloved event that helps showcase the nonprofit community and highlight the amazing work they do,” CEO and Managing Partner Joseph Damiano said. “Sax’s Founders Sander Sax, Morris Macy, and Egon Fromm always instilled the importance of giving back to the community, and we will continue that tradition for years to come.”
Submissions for the 2023 Founders' Award must be received by July 28, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. To be considered, all entries must be received on time, Sax said.

Last year, Popcorn for the People, a nonprofit dedicated to providing job opportunities for the disabled community, won first place last year, earning a $15,000 prize.
