PARSIPPANY, NJ - A Parsippany tradition slated to return this year has been rescheduled to a date other than the one previously announced this week.

The 20th annual Parsippany Fall Festival is now set for Sunday, Oct. 1 and will feature food, drinks, entertainment and more, township officials said Wednesday.

The event will take place from 12 to 5 p.m. at North Beverwyck Road in Lake Hiawatha.

The township had initially scheduled the festival for Sunday, Sept. 17, which falls on the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah this year.

Though some residents thanked the township for changing the festival date, others say the mishap could’ve been easily avoided.

“Next time, please check dates against calendars that include all religious observances, not just Christian holidays,” one Facebook commenter wrote.

“I'm glad it was changed but it was unacceptable in the first place,” another said. “A quick Google search in the beginning … stages would have given you the dates a year ago.”
