Parsippany Man Injured In Deck Collapse: PD

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A Parsippany man was injured in a deck collapse over the weekend in Hackettstown, police said.

The collapse happened on the 200 block of Park Ave, just after 4 p.m. on Saturday. Ten people were on the deck, but only one was injured; a 41-year-old from the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany declined treatment for a minor injury, police said. His identity was not released.

Police did not say what caused the collapse. A construction official will inspect the home on Monday and review if the deck was properly permitted.
