Parsippany Police Hiring For Entry-Level Officer Position

PARSIPPANY, NJ — The Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department is looking to bring a new officer onto the force, with applications being accepted until May 1.
This is an entry-level position, with no experience or certification required. The selection process for candidates includes a thorough background check, an oral interview, and a medical exam (which includes a drug screening and psychological exam).
The salary for this position is listed at $44,878 for the first six months of employment.

Those who are Police Training Commission-certified as a regular full-time police officer will not be considered, the job posting stated. This condition excludes applicants who only attended a Special Law Enforcement Officer I or II academy.
"If you are currently attending a police academy or are an Alternate Route Graduate and have not been hired by another jurisdiction, you can apply for this position and include your anticipated graduation date on your resume," police said.

The filing deadline is midnight on Wednesday, May 1. Applications will only be accepted online through policeapp.com, and the $35 registration fee goes to the website and not the township.
Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35, have a valid New Jersey driver's license, and have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must also be U.S. citizens and currently live in Morris or Sussex County.
