Parsippany Settles $54K Workers' Comp Dispute with Retired Construction Chief

Edward Corcoran, who retired last June, is to receive $54, 063.49 within 30 days to cover outstanding workers' comp pay, sick time, comp time, personal leave and vacation days.

Parsippany Troy-Hills officials have agreed to pay former township construction official Edward Corcoran $54,063 to settle a dispute over workers' compensation sick pay, NJ.com reported. The news was announced at the Nov. 12 council meeting at Town Hall.

Corcoran retired from his nearly decade-long stint as head of Parsippany's construction department last June. In January, he had been injured in a work-related incident and began receiving temporary workman's compensation disability pay. A dispute arose over six sick-day payments docked from his sick time accrual bank during his recuperation. Under the settlement agreement, neither the township nor Corcoran accept liability, the article said.

As part of the deal, Corcoran is to receive $54,063.49 within 30 days to cover  outstanding workers' comp pay, sick time, compensatory time, personal leave and vacation time, the article continued.
