Parsippany Student Athlete Awarded $500 Scholarship
The New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) awarded Parsippany High School Valedictorian Michael McVea with a $500 scholarship.

The New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) recently honored Parsippany High School's Michael McVea, who was among 17 students to earn a scholarship for their academic and athletic achievements.
The NJSIAA and Investors Savings Bank presented McVea with a $500 scholarship.
McVea was the 2013 Parsippany High School Valedictorian, a varsity javelin thrower and a member of the National Honor Society, among other accomplishments.

According to the NJSIAA, “officials at each high school have the opportunity to select one senior student as their scholar-athlete of the year. The scholarships, donated by NJSIAA corporate sponsors and other organizations supportive of high school sports in New Jersey, are awarded by random drawings.”
A total of 17 students were awarded a total of $12,000 in college scholarships.
