Patients Evacuated From Morris County Hospital Fire: Officials
The two-alarms blaze is under control, but Saint Clare's Denville is still sending ER patients to other facilities, officials said.
DENVILLE, NJ - Approximately 25 patients were displaced from Saint Clare's Denville Hospital Emergency Room Monday as a two-alarm fire tore through the ductwork in the roof, according to officials.
The emergency room is not accepting new patients despite the blaze being under control, officials said.
The facility on Pocono road put an alarm shortly after noon and the fire was localized to the ceiling of the emergency department. According to a spokesperson, the hospital experienced a small fire from an air handler, which effected one portion of one building. As required, some patients were transported to other areas of the hospital, and patients in the Emergency Department were transported by the EMS to the Dover Hospital.
