Pedestrian Killed Crossing Road In Morris Co.

JEFFERSON, NJ — A woman was killed crossing Route 15 Saturday night, Jefferson Township police said.

Anne Belcastro, 64, of LakeHopatcong, was struck and killed just after 5:30 p.m., police said. Belcastro was crossing Route 15 just north of Berhshire Valley Road when she was hit.

Police say Belcastro got out of a car that was stopped at the Berkshire Valley Road and Route 15 North intersection and walked west across the road when she was hit. The car that hit her had a green light, police said.

Belcastro was pronounced dead at Saint Clares Hospital Dover Campus.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
