Waterview, Temple Not on Agendas in the Week Ahead

Here's what's going on this week in Parsippany-Troy Hills.

Parsippany is getting back into the swing of things after several slow summer weeks.

A Planning Board workshop will kick off the week at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, August 5 at the Municipal Building.

The Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Council will meet on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Parsippany Hills High School, located at 20 Rita Drive. An agenda is not available.

The anxiously awaited Waterview meeting will not be on the agenda for Tuesday but if it is introduced in August, it would be during the meeting on Aug. 20, said Parsippany Municipal Clerk Yancy Wazirmas.

When the ordinance to rezone a tract of land in the Waterview complex comes before the council, it will also be held at the Hills to accommodate the large crowd anticipated for the meeting.

A local opposition group, made up of Parsippany and Mountain Lakes residents, said they will try to prevent the Township Council from acting on the controversial Waterview development by flooding the meeting with enough people to exceed the maximum capacity and have it shut down. However, the auditorium holds approximately 1,200 people.

The Parsippany-Troy Hills Zoning Board will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 7:30 p.m. The Board will hear two requests for variances, one for roof entry and another for the replacement of an air conditioner.

The final decision on a Hare Krishna temple, which has been discussed for several years, will not be on the agenda until the September 18 meeting for closing statements and a final ruling from the board.
