The Morris County Clerk certified vote totals in local elections this week, including in the Parsippany Township council race.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — The final vote tallies for the primary elections have all been certified as of this week by the Morris County Clerk. This did not change the projected election outcome.
Parsippany voters went to the ballot on June 6 to cast their votes for the three seats that are up for grabs on the council.
According to the Morris County Clerk's Office, approximately 14,000 residents went to the polls in Parsippany. There were five candidates that petitioned to run for the Republican nomination, which made this year's primary for the Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Council a contested one.

During their campaigns, Hernandez, Clarkin, and Kavanagh all spoke out against the tax increases, claiming that the current mayor and council ran on a fiscally conservative platform for Parsippany voters.
"The last thing anyone expected was a tax increase of over 18 percent in just two years. That will be the result of the 2023 budget proposed by the mayor. The Council has a responsibility to reduce this year’s budget before our residents are forced from their homes by out-of-control tax increases," the three candidates said.
Hernandez, Clarkin, and Kavanagh have also spoken out, citing last year's budget, which included a 14.3 percent increase attributed to recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic and the previous administration's fiscal management.
Currently, the Parsippany Township Council is currently made up entirely of Republicans.
