• Serious Fire Damages Home on Central Street, Across from Booker Elementary School (tapinto.net) — A weekend house fire on the 800 block of Central Street in Plainfield drew firefighters from the city and nearby towns to battle intense flames in the home’s upper floor. The blaze was knocked down by early evening, but officials have not yet released details on injuries or the cause. Residents near Booker Elementary may notice ongoing fire department activity as the investigation continues. 
• Battle Hill Students Collect 550 Pairs of Socks for Community Outreach (tapinto.net) — A Plainfield-based ministry is one of three groups receiving 550 pairs of new socks collected by Battle Hill Elementary students to help people facing homelessness and hardship. The donation will support Abundant Grace Worship Ministries’ outreach work in Plainfield, extending warmth and basic comfort while showcasing how young students in Union are stepping up for nearby communities.
