Coastal Ocean County Beach Weather Report For May 30, 2017

The National Weather Serviceis calling for a cloudy beach day in Ocean County, with a slight chance of showers or thunderstorms.

The air temperature will hit the mid-60s at best. Winds will be from the southeast at 10 miles per hour. The lightning threat is moderate, which means that thunderstorms are possible.

There's a moderate risk of rip currents today, which means swimmers planning to go in the water should check with local beach patrols today. Always swim within sight of a lifeguard, never swim alone or at night and bring a floatation device with you.

The ultraviolet index is a 7, which the NWS considers high. The surf temperature is still chilly at 60 degrees.

High tide at Barnegat Inlet will arrive at 12:33 p.m, followed by another low tide at 6:41 p.m.
