Cost To Refurbish Little Red Library Estimated At $100,000
Mayor suggests the possibility of using Open Space funds to pay for some of the repairs.

Point Pleasant Beach Mayor Stephen Reid wants to get moving on making repairs to the Little Red Library on McLean Avenue, according to the Ocean Star.
Reid broached the subject of using Open Space funds to pay for a portion of the estimated $100,000 to repair the historical building on McLean Aveneu at the Oct. 4 Borough Council meeting.
"I want to start a discussion now," the mayor said. "Even though we send a lot of taxes to the county...what I need to discuss with everyone is to keep in mind on a number that we can take from open space to basically make the (library) whole."

The Ocean County Library System owns the contents of the building, but the Point Pleasant Beach Library Association owns the building and property.
The repairs needed include an ADA-compliant ramp, exterior repairs, staining the exterior, sanding and painting the library sign and new shingles on the roof.
