POINT PLEASANT BEACH – Dangerous rip currents were reported at Point Pleasant Beach beaches this week, and people should stay out of the water.

The National Weather Service reported that life-threatening rip currents were likely for all people entering the surf zone.

Anyone visiting the beaches was encouraged to stay out of the surf. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
