Election '21: When, Where & How To Vote In Point Beach & Boro
The general election is on Nov. 2. Check out our voter guide before you cast your ballot.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ – This year’s general election will take place on Nov. 2, and voters in Point Pleasant and Point Pleasant Beach have the option of casting their ballot either by mail using a secure dropbox, hand-delivering it to your local board of elections, or voting at your local polling location.
This year, voters can also vote early at in-person voting at select locations starting Saturday, Oct. 23 through Sunday, Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

On the state side of things, there is a gubernatorial race this year, with current governor Phil Murphy being challenged by Republican Jack Ciattarelli, Libertarian Gregg Mele, Joanne Kuniansky of the Socialist Workers Party, and Madelyn Hoffman, who is representing the Green Party.
For Lt. Governor, incumbent Shelia Oliver is facing opposition from Diane Allen of the Republican Party, Eveline Brownstein of the Libertarian Party, Vivian Sahner of the Socialist Workers Party and Heather Warburton of the Green Party.
There will also be both a State Senate and State Assembly race on this year’s ballot for Beach and Boro voters. In Point Pleasant Beach, which is in legislative district 10, incumbent Republican state senator James Holzapfel and assemblymen John Catalano and Gregory McGuckin are running against Democratic senate nominee Emma Mammano and Garitt “Tony” Kono and Mary “Sharon” Quilter for the assembly.
Over in the Boro, which is in legislative district 30, incumbent Assemblymen Sean Kean and Edward "Ned" Thompson are facing Democratic challengers Matthew Filosa and Stephen Dobbins in the general election while current state senator Rober Singer will be running against Democrat Dan Stinger.
On the municipal side of the ballot, neither the Beach nor the Boro has mayoral races but they both have council and school board elections this November.
In the Beach, four candidates are running for two seats on the borough council, Republican candidates Michael Ramos and Rosa Crowley, along with current councilman Andy Cortes, who is running as an independent, and Ernest “EJ” Geiger, who is running as a write-in Democrat.
For the two seats on the Point Beach Board of Education, current Board of Education members Stacey McGlinchy, and James Ireland are running against John Durante and Elizabeth Boyle.
Point Pleasant Borough has two council races this election season. The first sees four candidates for two open three-year terms on the borough council; current council members William Borowsky and Council President Antoinette DePaola running against Democratic challengers Wayne Martiak and Derek Reichenbecher. Current councilwoman Valerie Coulson is running unopposed for an unexpired two-year term.
Nine candidates are running for the three seats on the Boro school board: the three incumbents, William Munn, John Florio, and Larry Williams, who are being challenged by Dawn Coughlan, Emily Seim, Katharine Vaccarella, Christine Newitts, Kenneth Polakowski, and Peter Hetzel.
