Earlier on Saturday, the New Jersey Department of Health notified the Maryland Department of Health that a person in New Jersey confirmed to have the coronavirus, or COVID-19, was in Maryland from Feb. 27 to March 1 attending CPAC.
The ACU also said it learned one of its CPAC attendees tested positive for the coronavirus this weekend. The exposure occurred prior to the conference, the group said.
A New Jersey hospital tested the person and the CDC confirmed the positive result, according to the ACU.
The individual is under the care of medical professions in New Jersey and has been quarantined, the ACU said.
The ACU says it has been in contact with the health department and the state of Maryland and is following their guidance.
"The attendee had no interaction with the president or the vice president and never attended the events in the main hall," the group said
"The Trump administration is aware of the situation and we will continue regular communication with all appropriate government officials."
