Hydrant Flushing Scheduled In Point Pleasant Beach
Fire hydrant flushing clears water lines and helps maintain water quality, officials said.
POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — Hydrant flushing is scheduled to begin next week in Point Pleasant Beach, the borough's water department announced.
The flushing clears sediment from the distribution system, "part of our continuing effort to deliver the best quality water possible," water department officials said.
Hydrants will be flushed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays only beginning Monday, April 15. The flushing is estimated to be completed by May 17.

"You may experience temporary low pressure or discoloration during the flushing period," officials said. "We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation."
If your water is discolored, run the cold tap until the water clears.
