New Brewery Filling Barrels In Point Pleasant
A new craft beer company has taken over the space filled for eight years in Point Pleasant by a couple who moved on to new adventures.
POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Craft beer lovers have a new microbrewery to add to their roster of places. This one, however, is in a spot they may already be familiar with.
Lokal Brewing Company held soft openings the weekends of Sept. 7 and 14, and is preparing for its grand opening soon, according to the company's Facebook page.
It is filling the space at 2257 Bridge Ave. in Point Pleasant that was held previously by Frye Brewing. Mike and Colleen Frye, who had owned and operated the brewery from 2017, sold the business earlier this year and shut down in May.

The brewery is still expanding the list of its beers on tap as it brews them. Its first two were a Hefeweizen named Solara, and an American IPA named New Drift.
Lokal Brewing's regular hours are set to begin Oct. 1, and it will be open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4 p.m.-9 p.m., Fridays from 2 p.m.-9 p.m., Saturdays from noon-9 p.m. and Sundays from noon-7 p.m.
