Point Beach Beach Urges Canceling Gatherings, Events For 30 Days

POINT PLEASANT BEACH – Borough officials and police are strongly urging the cancelation of all gatherings and large events scheduled to take place in Point Pleasant Beach over the next 30 days.

The borough also canceled municipal events, special events, committee and commission meetings, planning board and board of adjustment meetings and municipal court until further notice.

Mayor Paul Kanitra said the step is a preventive measure meant to safeguard the community and ensure that the risk of coronavirus transmission "within our borders is mitigated as much as possible," Kanitra said

He urged all residents to start practicing social distancing and to start minimizing physical contact with others "regardless of the lack of any current positive cases within the borough."
