Point Beach Football Beats Mater Dei 48-28

Beach continues winning streak

Point Beach varsity football, on its home turf, beat Mater Dei Prep 48 to 28 on Friday night.

According to All Shore Media, the Garnet Gulls (5-1, 3-1) continued their best start since 1997, as Andre Cochran ran for a pair of touchdowns, Christian Martino threw touchdowns of 50 and 20 yards to senior wideout Mark Jurkowski, and running back Kyle Samaritano had a pair of touchdown runs to help them hold off the Seraphs (0-6, 0-3).

Senior fullback Cody Coleman added a touchdown run in the win for Point Beach. Senior quarterback Jesse Meyer ran for 190 yards and four touchdowns and the Seraphs had 260 yards rushing in the loss after not having scored a point in their last three games.
