Team faces off with Metuchen on Thursday, weather permitting

The Point Beach High School girls' tennis team won their last two matches and now move to the semi-finals of the NSIAA Tournament.

However, the Beach's Alexis Connor was able to win at second singles against the girl she had lost to in the Ocean County Championship finals just one week ago, Pellerito said.

Elizabeth Tell, Alexis Connor and Katie Gaal all won in straight sets for the Gulls.

"Alexis Connor & Katie Gaal did not give up a single game in their matches, winning 6-0, 6-0," Pellerito said.

The Gulls will look to advance in the semi-final round against Metuchen High School on Thursday.

Originally, the match had been scheduled for Wednesday, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

If rain persists on Thursday, the match will be played indoor or outdoor, Pellerito said.
