Point Boro Fire Department Teaches Ocean Road Students How to Prevent Fires

Ocean Road students learn safety tips during Fire Prevention Week

Point Borough volunteer firefighters are teaching local students how to prevent fires as part of Fire Prevention Week activities.

On Thursday, members of the Point Pleasant Fire Department Station 75  volunteer fire department were teaching kindergarten and first grade students at Ocean Road School numerous safety tips, such as not touching lighters and how to stop, drop and roll if there is a fire.

The visit to Ocean Road is one of a number of visits that the volunteer firefighters are making to local pre-schools and elementary schools in the borough since this is Fire Prevention Week with the theme of "Protecting your Family from Fire," said Mitch Remig, one of the firefighters who ran the program at Ocean Road.
