Waldwick Man Drowns Off Jenkinson's In Point Pleasant On Sunday
Glen Carullo, 60, was pulled from rough surf off beach in front of the police substation.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH - A 60-year-old Waldwick man drowned in the ocean on Sunday, off Jenkinson's Beach in front of the police department substation.
Point Pleasant Beach police got multiple 911 calls about a swimmer in distress at 2:12 p.m. First responders spotted the unconscious man, later identified as Glen Carullo, in the surf. He was pulled from the water by police, Jenkinson's security guards and bystanders.
Officers immediately began CPR and Carullo was transported to Ocean Medical Center by the Point Pleasant Beach First Aid and Emergency Squad, as well as, MONOC Paramedics. Carullo was later pronounced dead at 3:14 p.m. at Ocean Medical Center.

The man was one of many up and down the Jersey coast who had to be rescued from the dangerous surf over the past few days. In Belmar, 35 people were rescued over the weekend.
The National Weather Service issued warnings all week about the high risk of rip currents and waves up to six feet.
